PainKeep 1.1

Creator Team Evolve
Homepage http://www.planetquake.com/skins/painkeep/

Evolve ? - Some of you might remember the Evolve team from the cool weapon, which was told to be just as popular at the grabbing hook.. The AirFirst. It was cool, but didn't come up to what the grappler was (and still is) Since then, many of us didn't hear much from the Evolve team.. until ..

PainKeep ! - This PC is, i must say, one of the very best PC's (Partial Conversions) i have ever seen available for free (um, yes - that's right. F-R-E-E!) When PainKeep was released, it took the 'net by a storm. All the news sites got all wild, and everyone seemed to love it... Not strange, though, due to the fact that is has 20 levels (including a start type of map), and so many models, i don't even dare to count 'em (around 60 i'd say) and many way cool sounds.

How does it play? - My first game was, once again, a deathmatch game. 5 players linked up, thru a LAN. We started up the level called something like the TechMountain (or something) and we just couldn't stop playing. We didn't even go for a snack! We simply had so much fun with the new weapons (8 in-all), and the very cool inventory stuff. (The pork and beans and gravity well must be the coolest ones!) Now, with the QuakeWorld PainKeep version, this patch is a sure winner.

Singleplayer then? - As the text file says, "PainKeep was designed for multi-player games only, which means that you have to make other people die." Now, i guess you can understand that singleplayer isn't too cool, then. But fear not! Decker has solved you problem, with..

PainKeep Reapers! - w00, yes! you read right! Decker did a "little" coding and came up with a PainKeep 1.0 & ReaperBot pack. Sadly, though, the the patch uses the 1.0 PainKeep source code. But what matter does it make? There isn't that much of a difference, and they are cool for close-to-dm-with-no-lag games ;) You can get the patch here, where you can also find a MissionPack #1 Reaper patch. I urge everyone to try this patch out.
